Italian Islands is the independent English-language editorial guide to Italy’s archipelagos. We review the whole Italian-island system region by region, respect Sicilian, Sardinian, Neapolitan, Aeolian, Tuscan and Pantesco regional identities, and hand off to Booking.com, Airbnb, GetYourGuide and Direct Ferries transparently when the reader is ready to book.
The domain.
italian-islands.com was first registered in 2006 as a UK villa-rental agency’s site. Twenty years later, in 2026, we reactivated the domain as an independent editorial guide. The exact-match category name is the site’s biggest asset. The editorial standard has to match.
What we do.
Every hotel review has a “what could be better” section. Every roundup names alternatives at the same price band. Every ferry page lists reliability caveats. Every Italian place name is spelled with correct diacritics in body copy (Cefalù, Sant’Andrea, Nero d’Avola, Costa Smeralda). URL slugs are romanised for compatibility only.
What we do not do.
No sponsored posts in year 1. No display ads. No paid rankings. No affiliate for hotel operators we have not personally vetted or independently corroborated. See our methodology and affiliate disclosure.
